Here I say why the Act really is worth defending, how it makes a difference to all our lives, why it fits nicely with Britain’s modest place in the world. I also explain why despite all this so many powerful actors in our society hate it so much that they want to destroy it, being perfectly happy to propagate myths in order to do so.
